The Birdhead photography duo is known for their photos of everyday life in Shanghai, their hometown. In their series The Song of Early Spring, they reflect on the great changes China has experienced through globalization. From displaying their series with lines from Chinese poems to putting themselves in the center of pictures, Birdhead also suggests the partial loss of a childhood home, as the Shanghai of their childhood has now become a completely different urban and cultural center. Photography allows Birdhead to capture the fleeting moments they experience in the modern, technologically-advanced Shanghai.
